MOUNT VERNON – Fans can support “Take Down Cancer” Night during the annual Cornell-Coe wrestling dual Thursday, Feb. 1, in the Small Multi-Sport Center.

The Rams (5-6) host the No. 7 nationally-ranked Kohawks (11-5) for a 7 p.m. meet. The winner earns a point toward the 2017-18 Bremner Cup All-Sport Series, which Cornell leads 6-3.

The night begins with the Fifth Annual Take Down Cancer Clinic, for youth K-6 and sponsored by The Big Apple Orchard. The legendary Dan Gable will speak to participants at 5:15 p.m. The clinic runs from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Cost is $20 per clinic participant and includes a t-shirt and admission into the Ram-Kohawk meet. The fundraiser will feature a few clinicians from the Hawkeye Wrestling Club, including Cornell assistant coach Lauren Louive.

Bill Bails and Greg Murphy are co-directors of the night’s activities.

During intermission of the dual meet, members of Cornell’s wrestling program will have 47 seconds to collect donations from the crowd. This is to bring awareness that every 47 seconds someone is diagnosed with cancer.

All proceeds from the night will go toward Cornell head wrestling coach Mike Duroe.
