Exciting matchups set for USA vs. Serbia Greco-Roman Dual in Boise, Idaho, Feb. 11

The U.S. Greco-Roman National team is set to battle against the Serbian National team in Boise, Idaho on Sunday, Feb. 11 at Bishop Kelly High School, starting at 3:00 p.m. MT.

This dual meet features many top stars from the U.S. National Greco-Roman team, and is kicking off a busy winter season of competition and training. The teams from the United States and Serbia are conducting joint training during this tour.

Wrestling fans who are not able to make it to Boise will be able to enjoy the competition as Flowrestling will broadcast the dual live.

Two-time Olympian Ben Provisor (Colorado Springs, Colo. /New York AC) will be go up against Serbia’s Nikolai Bodrev at 87 kg/191.4 lbs.

2012 Olympian and two-time Senior World Team member Ellis Coleman (Colorado Springs, Colo. /U.S Army WCAP) who will be taking on Serbian World Team member Mate Nemes. Coleman is a past two-time Junior World bronze medalist.

At 73 kg/160.6 lbs., 2017 U23 World Team member Alejandro Sancho will take the mat against 2016 Olympic champion and 2014 World champion Davor Stefanek of Serbia.

Serbia’s 2017 Senior World champion Victor Nemes is set to compete against 2017 Junior World champion and U.S. Open champion Kamal Bey (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) at 80 kg/176 lbs.

2017 U.S. World team member Ildar Hafizov (Colorado Springs, Colo. /U.S. Army WCAP) and two-time Olympian Kristian Fris of Serbia will wrestle of at 62 kg/136.4 lbs. This will be a decade-long rematch from round one of the 2008 Beijing Olympics where Hafizov, then representing Uzbekistan, was beaten by Fris at the 55 kg/121 lb. weight class.

2017 U.S. World Team member and three-time Pan American champion Pat Smith (Minneapolis, Minn. /Minnesota Storm) will take on Serbia’s Aleksandar Maksimovic at 74 kg/162.8 lbs. Maksimovic was fifth in the 2013 World Championships.

Barrett Stanghill (Philipsburg, Mont. /Minnesota Storm), a U23 World Team member for the USA, will wrestle against U23 Serbian World team member Vladimir Stankic at 87 kg/191.4 lbs.

2012 University World champion Max Nowry will face Nad Tamas of Serbia at 60 kg/132 lbs.

2017 National Team member John Stefanowicz is set to wrestle Serbia's Zarko Dickov at 81 kg/178.2 lbs.

The event is being hosted and sponsored by Suples Training Systems, a USA Wrestling sponsor, and in cooperation with USA Wrestling and the Wrestling Federation of Serbia.
