Jordan Holm (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm) has been named Wrestler of the Week.

Each week, will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Holm won a Greco-Roman championship at the prestigious Hungarian Grand Prix on Saturday in Szombethely, Hungary.

Holm tore through his bracket at 85 kg/187 lbs., winning five matches. In the championship finals, he stopped Kristofer Johansson of Sweden, 4-2. Johansson was fifth in the 2014 World Championships.

He opened with a 5-4 win over 2005 Junior World champion Zhanabarek Kenzheev of Kyrgyzstan, then scored a technical fall over veteran Vasyl Rachyba of Ukraine, 8-0. His quarterfinal win was over 2013 Asian Games bronze medalist Alhozur Ozdiev of Kazakhstan, 5-0. The semifinals victim was Rasmus Tjorstad of Norway, 4-2.

Holm becomes the first U.S. champion at that event since Dremiel Byers won it in 2003. American Jim Gruenwald won the event in 2001 and Rulon Gardner in 1998.
