FARGO, N.D. – California’s Randon Miranda and Arizona’s Danny Vega won prestigious USA Wrestling Triple Crowns in the Junior division in 2014.

And both took the first step of repeating their historic feats by winning USA Wrestling Folkstyle titles in April in Cedar Falls. Miranda won at 106 pounds and Vega prevailed at 113.

But something has to give at the Junior Nationals Greco-Roman competition in Fargo. Vega is still competing at 113, but Miranda has also moved up to that division.

Miranda and Vega both advanced to the quarterfinals on Monday night at the Fargo Dome.

2015 Junior Folkstyle Nationals champion Mitchell McKee of Minnesota is in the quarters at 132.

Wrestling resumes in the Junior Greco division at 9 a.m. Tuesday with quarterfinals and semifinals. The finals are scheduled for 2:15 p.m. Tuesday and will be shown on Flo Wrestling’s live webcast.

Returning Junior Greco champion Taylor LaMont of Utah moved into the quarterfinal round at 126. LaMont is a U.S. Cadet World Team member.

2014 Cadet Triple Crown winner Beau Breske of Wisconsin is in the quarters in Junior Greco at 170. The talented Kamal Bey of Illinois, who lost to Breske in last year’s Cadet finals in Greco and freestyle, also stayed unbeaten at 170.

Breske and Bey will face each other in Tuesday morning’s quarterfinals. Breske beat Bey 10-0 in the 2014 Cadet Greco finals and 9-6 in the 2014 Cadet freestyle finals.

Cadet World freestyle champion Mason Manville of Virginia and Cadet World silver medalist Jordan Wood of Pennsylvania have advanced to the quarters. Manville competes at 152 and Wood at 220. Wood made the U.S. Cadet World Team in Greco this year.

2015 Junior World Team member Tracy Hancock of Colorado reached the quarterfinal round at 220.
