When did you begin lifting?

2004

What motivated you to try out the sport?

I started weightlifting to improve my performance in other sports and realized that I enjoyed competing in weightlifting more than all other sports.

What is your most memorable weightlifting moment?

Receiving a medal at the 2013 Pan American Championships.

Do you have any pre-competition rituals?

I try to relax as much as possible within a couple days of competition.

What's your favorite post-competition meal?

Papa Johns pizza and a couple craft beers.

Are there any weightlifters that you look up to?

Chad Vaughn and Oscar Chaplin are the two lifters from the previous generation of lifters that I admire the most.

What is one thing that weightlifting has taught you?

Hard work and smart work pays off. You usually get what you deserve, and that is what makes weightlifting so pure.

Outside of weightlifting, how do you like to spend your time?

I spend my time reading, pursuing my masters degree in computer science, and coaching other lifters.
