USA Weightlifting announces 2020 Summer Series presented by Caffeine and Kilos

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (June 30, 2020) -- USA Weightlifting and Caffeine and Kilos are teaming up to bring you the 2020 Summer Series. As in-person competition opportunities remain limited, the 2nd annual online competition is expanded to eight weeks of max rep challenges.


Submissions will be ranked based on a public vote and awards will be given to the overall top five men and women at the end of the eight-week competition.The winners will receive prize packages from the following USA Weightlifting sponsors: Caffeine & Kilos, ESC Sounds, RP, Muscle Up, Ascent, Liftgenie, ROMWOD, Onyx Straps, Crossover Symmetry and BrainCo. The workouts:

*There is a five minute time limit for every workout

 

Week 1: July 6 - 12

125% BW max reps Front Squat


Week 2: July 13-19

100% BW max reps complex: Power clean + Squat Clean + Jerks (1+1+2)


Week 3: July 20 - 26

50% BW max reps Sotts Press


Week 4: July 27 - Aug. 2

100% BW max reps 3 Position Snatch


Week 5: Aug. 3 - 9

175% BW max reps Deadlift (straps allowed)


Week 6: Aug. 10 - 16

125% BW max reps complex: Squat Clean + Front Squats + Jerk (1+2+1)


Week 7: Aug 17 - 23

75% BW max reps complex: Squat Snatch + Hang Snatch + Overhead Squat (1+1+1)


Week 8: Aug 24 - 30

100% BW max reps Thrusters

The cost to enter is $25 and you must be a USA Weightlifting member to participate. You’ll be required to confirm your bodyweight by stepping on a scale on video before or after completing the challenge. Review the rules and a sample submission before entering your Summer Series submission HERE. The Summer Series cannot be used to qualify for USA Weightlifting sanctioned competitions.
