USA Weightlifting, National Academy of Sports Medicine, Aerobics and Fitness Association of America Join Forces to Educate Coaches

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (January 10, 2020) -- USA Weightlifting (USAW), the National Governing Body of Olympic Weightlifting in the United States has partnered with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) to offer new educational opportunities to coaches around the country.


As a result of the partnership, USAW will offer NASM/AFAA members discounted enrollment in the USAW Level 1 Coach Certification course. Additionally, USAW is now an approved CEU provider for both organizations, with the Level 1 Coach Certification course delivering 1.3 CEUs for NASM members and 13 CEUs for AFAA members. USAW courses are certified by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee and are the most trusted resource for Olympic weightlifting knowledge and education.

The weekend begins Saturday morning with a new NASM workshop, Corrective Exercise Strategies For Olympic Weightlifting (0.5 NASM CEUs), and continues Saturday afternoon and Sunday with a USAW Level 1 Coach Certification course (1.3 NASM CEUs).
