Clubs around the world to participate in USA Weightliftings International Try Weightlifting Day

Colorado Springs, CO Feb. 6, 2019 – USA Weightlifting will once again support hundreds of weightlifting gyms as they open their doors to new athletes on April 13, 2019, the third annual Try Weightlifting day. New this year, USA Weightlifting is teaming up with weightlifting federations from multiple countries, with more expected to join the effort.

“Try Weightlifting for Free Day” is designed to encourage new people to try the sport of Olympic weightlifting. Last year, more than 350 weightlifting gyms in the United States welcomed new athletes as they showcased the benefits of Olympic weightlifting for people of all ages and backgrounds.

“As part of USA Weightlifting’s mission to grow our sport in the United States and around the world, we are excited to once again offer the opportunity for anyone interested to learn the Olympic lifts,” said USA Weightlifting’s Membership Services Manager, Brad Suchorski. “There are so many ways Olympic weightlifting can contribute to a healthy lifestyle, whether athletes choose to compete, take their sports performance to the next level or simply stay in great shape.”

USA Weightlifting will once again provide affiliated clubs with marketing materials, supplemental insurance and a coaching program to use during the one-day event.
