Feb. 05, 2018, 5:24 p.m. (ET)
USA Weightlifting, in partnership with the U.S. Olympic Committee launched an online course for coaches to assist in programming Weightlifting for their athletes.

Developed by the USA Weightlifting Coaching Education department and the USOC, USA Weightlifting: Program Design is designed to teach coaches the principles behind an effective weightlifting program and how to design a program tailored to the needs of the coach's athletes.

"We think this is great tool for our coach members, and is a great supplement to the knowledge they learned in our Sports Performance and Weightlifting Coaching courses," USA Weightlifting CEO Phil Andrews said. "This course is also a great way for coaches outside of our system to learn about Weightlifting and what our Coaching Education department can offer to them."

The course is conducted completely online through the new Team USA Prep Center. It includes interactive elements to illustrate the benefits of Olympic Weightlifting and how coaches can create a successful program for their athletes.

Participants can enroll in the $50 course by clicking here.

Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion. USA Weightlifting members must email the certificate to usaw@usaweightlifting.org so the course can be updated to the membership profile.

The online course is not a substitute for any USA Weightlifting Coaching Education certifications.
