Statement on IWF Executive Board Decision

The IWF Executive Board made its decision in Bucharest, Romania Saturday. 

The International Weightlifting Federation Executive Board voted unanimously Saturday that Member Federations (MFs) found to have produced three or more Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRV) in the combined re-analysis process of the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games shall be suspended for one year. The MFs which have been identified as such are currently Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.  Read more about the IWF's decision.

"We are proud of the strong action to uphold one year bans taken by the IWF Executive Board in Bucharest today, including our own Ursula Garza Papandrea. We look forward to welcoming approximately 400 athletes, including World Record Holders and Olympic Champions, to compete in Anaheim together with the strongest Team USA roster in recent memory."
