USA Weightlifting Technical Director and 3-time Olympic Champion Pyrros Dimas with USA Weightlifting Coaching Education Manager Tamas Fehér.

For Coaching Education Manager Tamas Fehér , landing at USA Weightlifting, is just the latest stop of an illustrious career in Weightlifting.

"I came to USA Weightlifting because of my love and commitment to the sport," Fehér said. "I also came because of my respect for previous and current results of USA Weightlifting.

Born in Budapest, Hungary, Fehér joins USA Weightlifting with more than 30 years experience in the Olympic Movement. As a coach, he has lead the National Teams (Men and Women) for Great Britain (2008-2014) and Norway (2002-2003). In El Salvador (1998-2000), he developed a team with very little resources and coached their National Team athletes to their first Pan American and University Games Medals.

Fehér has published several books on weightlifting, one of which, 330-page comprehensive coaching handbook, Tamas Fehér's Olympic Weightlifting, has been named as required reading at Budapest’s University of Physical Education.  The English edition (foreword written by IWF President, Dr. Tamas Ajan) was distributed in 66 countries worldwide.

"Education, education, education, that is my goal here at USA Weightlifting," Fehér said. "And maybe some coaching. I have a coach's heart."

Away from the platform, Fehér enjoys playing the blues on his Fender Stratocaster. Playing the blues runs in the family, one of his sons is a talented guitar player.

But weightlifting is where Fehér's heart lies.

1972 Olympic Champion and former OTC Resident Coach Zygmunt Smalcerz with USA Weightlifting Coaching Education Tamas Fehér.

Athletes, coaches and administrators you all can count on my professional experience, knowledge and commitment," Feher said.

With so many years in the sport, Fehér has generated quite a list of favorite athletes.

"I have many favorites," Fehér says. "So many. Like: Tommy Kono, Louis Martin, Jurik Vardanian, Alexander Kourlovich, Pirros Dimas, Kakhis Kakhiasvilis, Lidia Valentin, Cara Heads."

While weightlifting is in his soul, Fehér played coy when asked about his current athletic condition.

"At this moment, I won't tell you," Fehér said smiling when asked how much he can snatch. "However at age 24 in the 82.5kg category and at age 37 in the 91kg category I could snatch 155 kilos."
