Team USA's lightest weight category scored big at Sunday's opening session of the 2017 Pan American Championships in Miami, Florida.

Alyssa Ritchey (Team Juggernaut) and teammate Kathleen Winters (Team Montana) both went 3-for-3 in the snatch.

Ritchey won silver in snatch with a 77kg lift while Winters took bronze with a 76kg snatch.

Both women went 2-for-3 in the clean & jerk, missing their final lifts. However, with a 95kg clean & jerk, her 172kg total was good enough for bronze overall.

"It was an honor to go out there and represent our country," Ritchey told USA Weightlifting after the victory ceremony. "It's been a tough month balancing school, work and training, but it was all worth it in the end."

Sunday features 3 Team USA lifters. Cortney Batchelor (Team Juggernaut) and Caitlin Hogan (Waxman's Gym) will lift at 11 AM Eastern in the 53kg A session, while Jessica Lucero (Catalyst Athletics) lifts at 4:30PM Eastern in the 58kg session.
