Committee Nominations

NOMINATIONS for USA WEIGHTLIFTING NOMINATING & GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE

Due to two recent resignations from the USA Weightlifting Nominating & Governance Committee, USA Weightlifting are requesting nominations or self-nominations through March 14, 2016.

Accordingly, USAW and the NGC are requesting nominations or self-nominations through March 14, 2016.  Nominees should complete the attached Nominating & Governance Committee application and return it along with a Resume/Bio of relevant experience to: governance@usaweightlifting.org no later than March 14, 2016.
*Deadline has been extended to April 1, 2016.

Timeline

  • Monday, March 14:         Nominations due to USA Weightlifting.  A nomination form and Resume/Bio of relevant experience is required.
  • Tuesday, March 15:        NGC to review and screen candidates in those categories as required under the Bylaws.
  • Tuesday, March 22:        NGC to select new candidates.
  • By March 29:                 Results of selection to be announced.

    Candidate Requirements:  There are two areas of the Nominating & Governance Committee available:

    1. Independent as defined by 6.7 of the USA Weightlifting Bylaws, with a term to expire January 2017 (taking over the unexpired term of Mr. Kyle Ernst).
    Individual from all other areas of the membership (Grassroots, Technical & Athlete), with a term to expire in February 2018.

The NGC for USAW should consists of five (5) members, and is responsible for vetting the nominees and selecting the Independent and At-Large Directors from the nominations submitted. The NGC members as stand are:

1)    Megan Tornstrom DeFourny, Chair

2)    Jennifer Ullman, Board-Roll Off Representative.

3)    Kelly Rexroad Williams, Athlete Representative

NOMINATIONS for USA WEIGHTLIFTING JUDICIAL COMMITTEE

A vacancy for an Athlete Representative on the USA Weightlifting Judicial Committee has arisen.

Accordingly, USA Weightlifting are requesting nominations or self-nominations through March 14, 2016.  Nominees should complete the attached Judicial Committee application and return it along with a Resume/Bio of relevant experience to: governance@usaweightlifting.org no later than March 14, 2016.

USA Weightlifting are requesting nominations or self-nominations through April 1, 2016

Accordingly, USAW and the NGC are requesting nominations or self-nominations through April 1, 2016. Nominees should complete the attached Competition Committee application and return it along with a Resume/Bio of relevant experience to: governance@usaweightlifting.org no later than April 1, 2016.

  • Friday, April 1:         Nominations due to USA Weightlifting.  A nomination form and Resume/Bio of relevant experience is required.

  • Thursday, April 7:     Ballots to be Distributed.

  • Tuesday, April 26:    Date of Election

  • Monday, May 2:       New Committee members announced, handover period begins.

  • Wednesday, June 1: New Terms Commence.

  1. Candidate Requirements:  There are two areas of the  Competition Committee available:
    1. Four (4) individuals from the General Membership
    2. One (1) Athlete Representative as defined by USA Weightlifting by-laws section 10.2

A vacancy for an Athlete Representative on the USA Weightlifting Coaching Committee has arisen.

Accordingly, USA Weightlifting are requesting nominations or self-nominations through April 1, 2016.  Nominees should complete the attached Coaching Committee application and return it along with a Resume/Bio of relevant experience to: governance@usaweightlifting.org no later than April 1, 2016.
