IWF Visits Anaheim

The Director General of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) traveled to Anaheim, California, to visit the site of the 2017 IWF Weightlifting World Championships.

Joined by USA Weightlifting CEO Phil Andrews and Sports Anaheim Vice President Roy Edmondson, IWF Director General Atilla Adamfi toured the Anaheim Convention Center, the venue of next year's World Championships.

"It was a great technical visit," Andrews said. "It was a fantastic opportunity for the IWF, USA Weightlifting and Visit Anaheim to get a lay of the land and to envision a great world championships that will be held here." 

The Anaheim Convention Center will house meetings, training and competitions under one roof. The Anaheim Convention Center is located in the Anaheim Resort district, centrally located between Los Angeles and San Diego, Anaheim is easily accessible from four nearby airports including Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), to easily shuttle IWF athletes to their accommodations in Anaheim.

The 2017 IWF World Championships are scheduled for November 28-December 5, 2017. The 2017 American Open Championships will be held immediately following the World Championships.
