Please note the following critical information:

  1. You MUST be present for the ENTIRE course and exam in order to be eligible for certification. If an emergency occurs and you need to leave the course before the end, you will be given the opportunity to reschedule.
  2. Registration Deadline - Tuesday prior to the course at 11:45pm MST. No walk-ins or late registration will be accepted.
    • Courses at any OTC: Registration deadline is 4 weeks before the course.
  3. Course Capacity - Courses may have limited space and registration may be closed before the deadline at any time without notice.
  4. Course Cancellation - In the event that USAW has cancelled or rescheduled a course, a full refund or free transfer will be made available. However, USAW is not responsible for any hotel, travel or other costs incurred by course registrants. Courses are required to have a minimum of 8 participants. For courses with less than 8 participants, USA Weightlifting will contact the coordinator and instructor at least one week prior to the course and let them know they are in jeopardy of having the course cancelled. Participants in courses that are cancelled due to lack of participation will be notified on Wednesday via email.
  5. Transfers - Should you need to transfer from a course, USA Weightlifting must be notified at least 24 hours in advance of the course; USA Weightlifting will allow for 1 free transfer. Please send your request and course information to the National Office.
  6. Course Attendance - If you cannot attend a course you have registered for, please let USA Weightlifting know as soon as possible so that the course instructor can plan accordingly.
  7. Discounts - There are no discounts given for coaching courses.
  8. Failed Exams - Following the course, you will have seven days to complete the online exam, found in your webpoint profile. A passing score is 75%. If you fail the first time, you will be given a second attempt at no cost. If you fail twice, you'll be required to retake the course at a reduced rate of $250.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY: In consideration of my participation in any USA Weightlifting program, I acknowledge that I understand the nature of the activity, and that I, and/or my minor child, am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such activity. I fully understand that weightlifting involves risk of serious bodily injury, including permanent disability, paralysis, and death, and that these and other risks may be caused by my own actions, or inaction, those of other participating in the event, the conditions in which the event takes place, or the negligence of the Releasers named below, and that there may be other risks either not known to me or not foreseen at this time and I fully accept and assume all such risks and all responsibility for losses, costs and damages I incur as a result of my participation in the activity. I hereby release, discharge and covenant not to sue USA Weightlifting, their respective administrators, directors, agents, officers, volunteers and employees and any sponsors and advertisers of any USAW sanctioned event in which I participate (each considered on of the Releasers herein) from all liability, claims, demands, losses or damages on my account caused or alleged to be caused whole or in part by the negligence of the Releasers. This release, waiver of liability and express assumption of risk agreement does not apply to any liability, claims demands, losses or damages arising out of the gross negligence of or intentional, willful or wanton misconduct of Releasers. If I or anyone on my and/or my minor child's behalf makes a claim against any of the Releasers, I will indemnify, defend, save and hold harmless each of the Releasers from any loss, liability damage or cost which may incur as a result of such claim.
