The National Governing Body of Olympic Weightlifting under the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee is seeking an enthusiastic student with a multi-disciplined skill set to assist support and strengthen the National headquarters of USA Weightlifting by working closely with the outreach and scouting department of the organization. An internship with USA Weightlifting will assist gain practical experience that parallels academic study and fosters strong working relationships in the sports industry.



Functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Support the grassroots development department with updating and creating contact lists


  • Assist the program development director with event planning and execution


  • Provide operational support with various projects such as: collegiate and high school outreach initiatives, combine events, and recruitment services


  • Other duties as assigned



Tools /Equipment:

  • Standard office equipment.


  • Microsoft Applications: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Publisher


  • Proficiency with social media, internet search capabilities, usage of telecommunications equipment.



  • Dynamic, open office environment in multi-story building at the US. Olympic Sport House.


  • Business casual environment.




  • Educational Requirements: enrolled or recently graduated from an accredited bachelor’s or master’s program in sports administration, business administration, sport and exercise science, biomechanics or related field


  • Passion for business, sport and the ideals of the Olympic Movement.


  • Excellent communication and human relations skills with the understanding of business processes.
  • Eligible to work in the USA.
