Dr. Ellyn Robinson , CSCS*D, RSCC, earned her PhD in Exercise and Sport Studies from Springfield College (1999), and is a world renown pioneer in strength and conditioning. Of Dr. Robinson’s many accolades, a few include a Presidential Fellow at her place of employment, Bridgewater State University,where she is a full professor and the program coordinator for The Masters of Science Degree Program in Strength and Conditioning. She is one of the few who have been awarded with The National Strength and Conditioning Association(NSCA) Educator of the Year, 2007 , of the 15 awarded, only 2 have been females.She has also been honored for being a female pioneer in strength and conditioning by the NSCA. Dr. Robinson is an International Weightlifting Federation Category 1 International Technical Official, as well as a USA Weightlifting International Coach. Dr. Robinson was a competitive weightlifter for decades, and from her diligent hard work, had the luxury of winning many and most of her international masters worlds and Masters Pan American Games, Masters Nationals and American Masters...she is no stranger to competition, having competed in some 10+ sports in her tenure.

Lorie Blair , MS, CSCS, USA Weightlifting Level 3 - National Coach, USA Hockey Level 4 Coach, earned her Masters Degree in Strength and Conditioning at Bridgewater State University (2010). Coach Lorie is the lead assistant coach at Robinson Weightlifting, the head coach of the youth team at Robinson Weightlifting, and is also the CFO of RWL Weightlifting, Inc. Coach Lorie earned her bachelor's degree in Business Management from Providence College where she was a full 4 year scholarship ice hockey athlete, and captain of the Friars.Coach Lorie’s coaching background is second to none. Her expertise is with the youth population, and her coaching style is extremely personalized, technical and progressive. Coach Lorie also teaches at Bridgewater State University in the Physical Education/Exercise Science program.

Club Information:

Robinson Weightlifting has been a registered club since 2000, originating under the name of Bridgewater Weightlifting. Our club has a Senior International Coach, three National Coaches, and 15+ club coaches. We have coached and competed for two decades at the local, regional, national and international level. We have hosted and instructed approximately 50 USA Weightlifting Certification Courses and have been working in our non-profit capacity for the past 7 years with our mission of “Building Strong PEOPLE Through Weightlifting”.We have a 3500 sf physical space completely dedicated to Olympic Weightlifting that wedo not share with any other population. We have 11 individual 8’ x 8’ training platforms as well as a 16’ x 16’ marked 12’ x 12’ competition platform .Each platform is equipped with a full set of Eleiko Weights and a 20, 15, and 7 kg barbell.In addition to our competitive weightlifting team, we offer weightlifting based classes to youth, active older adults, competitive teams, schools, and the community. We are active in the local community offering demos, free training times, and scholarships for families in need.Robinson Weightlifting annually hosts 70% of New England LWC’s weightlifting competitions and offers the only annual weightlifting camp. On six separate occasions we have had Olympians at our events, and have fund raised for many local athletes to compete internationally.Each year Robinson Weightlifting participates in USA Weightlifting's “Weightlifting For Free Day” as well as The USOC “Olympic Day”Robinson Weightlifting is an inclusive family style team that is the largest and one of the
oldest USA Weightlifting Sanctioned teams in New England.

Program Name: RWL Weightlifting, Inc.

RWL Weightlifting is a community based Olympic Weightlifting team,club, and facility that uses weightlifting as our vehicle to build stronger people through weightlifting. We are very active in our community and work with youth sports, such as, wrestling, ice hockey, soccer, swimming,and golf. We work with our adult community members through The Franklin Recreation Program, The Franklin Senior Center, and our Weightlifting for Women program. We work with multiple collegiate populations, local health clubs for education and CEU’s, as well as the YMCA and The Healthy Kids Annual Day in collaboration with The New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium.
