By USA Water Ski & Wake Sports | Feb. 23, 2023, 7:48 a.m. (ET)

USA Water Ski & Wake Sports is pleased to announce it will host its inaugural Wake Sports Festival, April 14-15, in partnership with the City of Auburndale’s second annual City Fest music festival. City Fest is an all-day event that will be held in the middle of the Lake Myrtle Sports Park on Saturday, April 15 and feature music, food trucks and face painters. The Wake Sports Festival will take place at the new Championship Water Ski Lake at the Lake Myrtle Sports Park in Auburndale, Fla.

The Wake Sports Festival kicks off on Friday, April 14, with the 2023 USA Wakeboard Team Trials. Male and female riders from all age divisions (U9, U12, U14, U18, O30, O40 and Pro) will compete to have an opportunity to be considered for the U.S. National Wakeboard team. As a U.S. National Team rider, you can be selected to represent the United States at select international IWWF events. Additionally, top riders in select divisions will earn the opportunity to compete in the Team USA vs. Mexico Challenge on Saturday, April 15, while the top four male and female Pro riders will earn a berth in the Pan American Games Team Trials on Saturday, April 15.

The Team USA vs. Mexico Challenge will include a total of 40 riders (20 from each country) competing in a head-to-head style event in various age divisions. The top scorer from each head-to-head competition (two passes each) will receive a point for their country. Total points will be calculated to decide the winning country.

The Pan American Games Team Trials will include the top four male and female riders from Friday’s preliminary round competing for the right to represent the United States at the XIX Pan American Games, Oct. 20-25, in Santiago, Chile. The top male and female riders with the best overall score will earn their way on the team.

The on-water action wraps up on Saturday with the Wake Sports Exhibition, a high-intensity display of various wake sports, including barefooting, freestyle jumping, hydrofoiling, kneeboarding and swivel skiing.
