Six Athletes Selected To U.S. Elite Water Ski Team

Anna Gay was one of six athletes selected to the 2021 U.S. Elite Water Ski Team.

USA Water Ski & Wake Sports is pleased to announce the selection of the 2021 U.S. Elite Water Ski Team. The six-member team, selected by the American Water Ski Association’s International Activities Committee, will compete in the 37th Visit Lake County Florida IWWF World Waterski Championships, presented by Guaranteed Rate, Oct. 12-17, at Jack Travers’ International Tournament Skiing and Sunset Lakes in Groveland, Fla.

Athletes that have been selected to the 2021 U.S. Elite Water Ski Team are (alphabetical order): Brooke Baldwin (Winter Garden, Fla.,), Taylor Garcia (Winter Garden, Fla.), Anna Gay (Winter Garden, Fla.), Freddy Krueger (Winter Garden, Fla.), Erika Lang (Gilbert, Ariz.) and Nate Smith (McCordsville, Ind.). The WaterSki Broadcasting Company will provide a live webcast of the world championships on its YouTube channel.

The U.S. Elite Water Ski Team earned the overall team silver medal and three U.S. water ski athletes won individual medals in respective events at the 36th Water Ski World Championships, Aug. 12-18, 2019, in Putrajaya, Malaysia. Canada won the gold medal and France earned the bronze. The United States is seeking to win its 28th world team title.

The Ski Nautique will be the official towboat of the 37th IWWF Water Ski World Championships. Nautique is a National Sponsor of USA Water Ski & Wake Sports.
