The IWWF and French Waterski & Wakeboard Federation have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 IWWF 35+ Water Ski World Championships. The event was originally scheduled to be held at Baurech Lake in France in September 2020 and then rescheduled to September 2021.
This decision was made in consultation with the event organizer, IWWF President, IWWF European Confederation President, IWWF World Waterski Council and IWWF Medical Committee.
With the global pandemic still affecting international travel, current quarantine requirements in France for some countries, which will impact participation significantly, and the uncertainties of organizing an event in three months time, it was decided that cancelling the event is the best course of action, following IWWF’s social responsibility philosophy and to ensure the well-being of organizers and athletes.
The next IWWF 35+ Water Ski World Championships is scheduled to be held in 2022 and the host and venue will be announced at a later time.
