COLORADO SPRINGS – Three-time Olympian Reid Priddy announced on Tuesday that he would be missing the rest of the 2014 season after suffering an injury during FIVB World League in Bulgaria.
“Regretfully, the 2014 season was cut short for me due to the awkward landing I made in Bulgaria on Saturday night,” the Richmond, Va., native said. “I will be having surgery next week on my knee and immediately begin aggressive rehab to get back to top shape and condition.”
Priddy added 13 points on three kills, four blocks and a match-high three aces in Team USA’s win over Bulgaria, before leaving in the fourth set due to the season-ending injury.
“The goal is still the same, going for gold in Rio,” Priddy said of his future. “I will do everything in my power to recover fully and get back on the court.”
The U.S. Men’s National Team will be back on the court June 6-7 in Long Beach, Calif., squaring off against Russia to continue the FIVB World League slate.
