LONG BEACH, Calif. (May 8, 2012) – The U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team will participate in the 19th Annual EIF Revlon Run/Walk For Women in an unforgettable day in the fight against women’s cancers. The event takes place in Los Angeles on May 12.

“We want to unite in support for our teammates who have lost or shared battles with their loved ones and cancer, and celebrate their lives and bring light to how they have inspired us,” U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team libero Nicole Davis (Stockton, Calif.) said.

Members of the team are seeking pledges at the USA Volleyball booth during the NORCECA Men’s Continental Olympic Qualification Tournament being held at the Walter Pyramid on the campus of Long Beach State University May 7-12. The U.S. Men, the defending Olympic Games champions, are seeking to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games at the tournament. The U.S. Women, ranked No. 1 in the world by the FIVB, qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games last November at the FIVB World Cup.

“You can join us in the fight by making a donation on behalf of one of our team members,” Davis said. “Your donation will help fund important research into the cause and cure of women’s cancers, prevention, education and support service programs for those women battling cancer.”
