2020 U.S. Men’s Junior National Team – U21 NORCECA

The U.S. Men’s Junior National Team is the highest level of programming for the Junior age group and will represent the United States at the 2020 U21 NORCECA Continental Championships. Once the competition is rescheduled, the roster will be determined from the Men’s Junior National training team or directly from tryouts pending when the competition is. These athletes have the longest and most significant time commitment of all programs. USA Volleyball covers all associated costs for this program including travel to and from training and competition, meals, lodging and gear. Additional details will be provided to those selected individuals along with their initial invitations.

2020 U.S. Men’s Junior National Training Team

The U.S. Men’s Junior National Team is the highest level of programming for the Junior age group and will represent the United States at the 2020 U21 Pan American Cup. 20 athletes will be selected for a “Second Tryout” in order to then determine the final group of 12 for competition. This “Second Tryout” invitation will be received over the same invitation release dates as all other HP Summer Programs.

A final 12 athletes will be selected from the second tryout group to continue training and travel together to compete in the international competition. These athletes have the longest and most significant time commitment of all programs. USA Volleyball covers all associated costs for this program including travel to and from training and competition, meals, lodging and gear. Additional details will be provided to those selected individuals along with their initial invitations.

The 12 athletes selected from the Men’s Junior National Training Team will remain in Colorado Springs, Colo., to continue training prior to competition. These athletes have the longest and most significant time commitment of all programs. USA Men’s Junior A1 National Training Team Program

The Men’s Junior A1 Program is the National Training Team Program for USA Volleyball in the Men’s Junior age group. The athletes who participate in this program are in strong contention to fight for a position on the U.S. Men’s Junior National Team in the subsequent year. Participating athletes train as a group for five days. Training is conducted by some of the top High Performance Pipeline Coaches in the country and features an intense international skill and system focus, including hands-on opponent scouting training. Training is in conjunction with A1 and Continental programs for our other age groups prior to High Performance Championships, however the Men’s Junior A1 program does not participate in High Performance Championships.

Lodging

All USA athletes will reside at a local USAV-provided hotel for the duration of the training. All athletes will be placed in rooms with other athletes but will be provided with their own bed. Roommate requests are not permitted.

Meals

Meals are provided for the duration of training beginning with dinner on arrival day and ending with breakfast on departure day.

Travel

Designated airport: Pittsburgh International Airport, (PIT). Athletes who are not traveling with a parent or guardian must arrive at the designated airport between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the first day of the program. Flights should be scheduled to depart after 3 p.m. on the final day of the program to utilize the included HP staff-escorted ground transportation to and from the airport. Parents & Families

Once the athletes check in to the program, they will be under the supervision of HP staff for the duration of the program. All training sessions are open to view, though many athletes do travel alone.
