Nick Lucena/Phil Dalhausser vs. Mexico, 10a ET     
Nick and Phil will battle Mexico’s Lombardo Ontiveros and Juan Virgen, Mexico’s first beach pair since 2000. In Ontiveros/Virgen’s first match on Aug. 7, they beat Lupo and Nicolai of Italy in three. Phil and Nick handily beat Tunisia in their first match 2-0. The pair are playing for their 90th win as a team.

U.S. Men vs. Italy, 2p ET
The U.S. Men are 0-1 after suffering a surprising loss to Canada on Sunday (25-23, 25-17, 25-23). Italy took a surprisingly easy victory over France (25-20, 25-20, 25-15). The U.S. Men are 4-2 against Italy since 2012, which includes a 3-1 loss to Italy in the World League Final Round on July 14. The Italians are led by opposite Ivan Zaytsev and outside hitter Osmany Juantorena, a Cuban national with Italian citizenship.

Lauren Fendrick/Brook Sweat vs. Brazil, 3:30p ET
Lauren and Brooke lost their opening match to Kinga Kolosinska/Monika Bzostek after taking the first set. Today in Rio, they play the top-ranked team in these Games, Brazil’s Larissa Franca and Talita Antunes, both three-time Olympians, who won their first match, 2-0, over Russia’s Evgenia Ukolova/Ekaterina Birlova.
