7 Tips on How To Block The Middle Hitter

1) Know the hitter's tendencies and power shot ahead of time

2) Find out if the hitter prefers hitting cross body or wrist-away

3) Watch to see if the hitter tends to hit in the line of his or her approach

4) Watch the middle hitter's shoulder to figure out trends

5) When the middle hitter's shoulder is perpendicular to the net, he or she is more likely to his wrist-away into the block

6) When the middle hitter's shoulder is parallel to the net, the hitter will likely hit cross-body into right back

7) Make sure to watch where the middle is at all times in relation to the ball
