The end-of-season awards are chosen by players, coaches, referees and officials that participate on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour. Walsh Jennings (Saratoga, Calif.) was the only female U.S. player to be recognized in 2013. The other award winners were all from Brazil or Germany.

Walsh Jennings gave birth to her third child, a daughter named Scout Margery, in April of 2013. She returned to the FIVB World Tour in July in Gstaad, Switzerland, where she and April Ross (Costa Mesa, Calif.) finished tied for ninth at the Gstaad Grand Slam.

Ross and Walsh Jennings didn’t play together internationally again until November, when they won  back-to-back FIVB Grand Slams in São Paulo, Brazil and Xiamen, China.

Ross and Walsh Jennings are planning to play together full time beginning in 2014 and hope to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
