Job Description
The Assistant Coach, Women’s National Sitting Team (WNST) is a regular full-time position reporting to the Women’s Sitting Team Head Coach/Program Director. This position is responsible for assisting the head coach with all aspects of the women’s sitting program to include, management of specific program matters, logistics, athlete selection and training, program development, athlete housing and video assessment. This position is located in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:
  • Assist with recruiting, evaluating and selecting athletes into the Women’s National Team program and pipeline
  • Prepare and manage the WNST budget in collaboration with head coach
  • Assist with coordinating all WNST competitions and camps
  • Assist with elite player selection and development with Manger, Sitting Teams Programs and A2 coaches
  • Collaborate with external providers to include but not limited to S&C, ATC, chiropractors and other fitness instructions and ensure contractual obligations are met
  • Assist the head coach with development training plan and training of resident and no resident female athletes and oversee daily resident practices
  • Coordinate the use of resident housing with the HP Siting Program Director including moving dates
  • Support personal and media appearance requirements
  • Work with athletes to ensure compliance with USAV, USOC and UCO policies
  • Submit reports to HP Sitting Program Director for necessary releases, website updates and stories, news and magazine articles and media publications
  • Provide input and recommendations regarding office, gymnasium, media and other operational needs
  • Assist with the maintenance of records on teams (competitive results, individual statistics, photo and biographical materials, alumni list etc.)
  • Assist the HP Sitting Program Director in program management matters
  • Archive, analyze and use stats and video from practices and competitions. Assist with implementing practical applications of stats and video in practice.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required - sports administration, coaching, physiology, exercise science, education or related field
  • Minimum three (3) years coaching at the elite junior, collegiate, national or international level; or the equivalent in competition and sport management
  • Previous work with Paralympic programs desirable
  • Proven ability to promote sport performance
  • Experience using DataVolley software is desirable
  • Demonstrated leadership of athletes and support staff

Job Description
The Athletic Performance Coach, Beach National Teams reports to the Director, Sports Medicine and Performance. This position provides strength and conditioning programming, testing and counseling for select Beach National Team athletes. This is a is a regular full-time position that works within an integrated sport performance team including sport coaches, sports medicine, nutrition, psychology to enhance athlete performance and improve health. This position is located in Torrance Calif.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for approved Beach National Team athletes
  • Provide group and individual strength and conditioning sessions for approved Beach National Team athletes
  • Develop and implement periodic physical testing to monitor progress against performance goals
  • Travel with Beach National Teams to assigned competitions in support of athlete performance
  • Collaborate with appropriate USAV/USOC staff and external providers on all areas of performance including nutrition, recovery, mental training, injury prevention, etc.
  • Collaborate with appropriate USAV staff and external providers regarding the physical status of athletes, while maintaining appropriate compliance with any privacy laws/standards

Job Summary
The Head Athletic Trainer, Beach National Teams reports to the Director, Sports Medicine and Performance. This position is the primary health care service provider for the beach national teams providing evaluation services, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries/illness concerning beach national team athletes. The Head Athletic Trainer is a regular full-time position that works closely with other Performance team professionals to enhance athlete performance and improve health. This position is in Torrance Calif.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Leads the USAV Beach Sports Medicine department ensuring continual enhancement.
  • Performs evaluations, treatments, and rehabilitation services for Beach National Team athletes
  • Collaborates with appropriate USAV and external partners on all areas of performance including strength and conditioning, nutrition, recovery, mental training, injury prevention, etc.
  • Creates long term programming to enhance performance and improve health
  • Travels with Beach National Teams to specified competitions upon assignment
  • Implements yearly medical screens to ensure ongoing supervision of the athlete’s health
  • Communicates with appropriate USAV staff and contractors regarding the medical status of athletes, while maintaining appropriate compliance with medical privacy laws
  • Understands the various Anti-Doping programs and aids in athlete education
  • Maintains a USAV Sports Medicine Center that complies with health and safety standards
  • Maintains updated injury and illness documentation

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in athletic training from a Board Certification approved program National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
  • Minimum six (6) years of sports medicine experience following certification
  • Able to effectively collaborate with medical staff to lead and develop athlete care programs
  • Current Health Care Provider CPR certification
  • No record of founded malpractice claims, professional boundary violation or State Board sanctions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and working knowledge of computer programs

  • Serve as lead staff of assigned High Performance Events, National Teams, and Programs.
  • Create and maintain event registrations in HP online system(s).
  • Responsible for assigned budgets including tracking, reporting and accountability.

  • Provide technical and conceptual recommendations for system and process improvements.

The Coordinator, Officials Development is a regular full-time position reporting to the Director, Officials Development. The role contributes to all aspects of Officials Development programming and is primarily responsible for providing administrative and logistical support. Additional hours may be required to include nights, weekends and holidays, especially during the event season. The position is located in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Organize and support all officials’ training and educational programs including indoor, beach and sitting.
  • Manage officials’ registrations for the four national championships and High Performance Championships.
    • Select and secure officials for National championship – ensure all credentials are met.
    • Develop national event pre-tournament materials.
  • Audit and update records in USAV’s Member Management System for national certification requirements and national clinic attendees and candidates for Officials Development sites.
  • Responsible for the distribution and payment of contracts for coaches, mentors, trainers and clinicians for sitting, beach and indoor.
  • Secure OCRP (housing for officials at national events).
  • Research travel costs and submit Travel Authorizations, as needed.
  • Allocate VIK for officials at national events; and for coaches, mentors, trainers and clinicians.

  • Contribute to content and assist with the publication of the Officials Newsletter.
  • Work with arbitrators and other constituents to update and maintain officials case books.
  • Support Officials Assembly and Commissions as needed.

The Coordinator, Events is a regular full-time position reporting to the Director, Events. The successful candidate will be an experienced professional tasked with assisting in all aspects of support to include but not limited to: team registration, event logistics and execution, and budget management. This position requires excellent organization, communication, planning and coordination.  Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload, and make recommendations for changes in office processes, programs and practices. This position answers non-routine correspondence exercising the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of constituencies. The position is located in Colorado Springs, Colo. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to: 

• Serve as lead in coordination and execution of assigned events to include budgeting, event logistics, team registration and support, and event execution.
• Handle direct inquiries and/or requests which can be addressed without Director involvement.

The Senior Director, National Teams is a regular full-time, exempt position reporting directly to the CEO. The position is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the National Team Programs (Beach, Indoor and Sitting disciplines), with the ultimate goal of achieving Olympic and Paralympic success. The role provides leadership, continuity, oversight and related performance services to the unified national team program. The position oversees the National Team Programs & Coaches, Sport Performance Services (i.e. sports science, sports medicine, strength & conditioning, nutrition, etc.), High Performance, California Operations, and Coaching Education Departments. Extended hours may be required to include nights, weekends and holidays, along with travel (including some international travel). The position will be located in one of USA Volleyball’s four office locations

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Provide vision and leadership for USAV’s national team coaches, sport performance staff, high performance staff and elite athletes, with the focus on performance success at the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, World Championships and other key international events.
  • Provide consistent leadership that ensures the perpetuation and continued growth of a National Team culture that has been historically characterized by the highest levels of personal accountability; medal-winning performance results; team spirit; and national pride.
  • Lead the creation and delivery of quadrennial High Performance Plans for each discipline.
  • Develop the selection procedures for the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, Pan American Games, Parapan American Games, Youth Olympic Games and other USOC protected competitions.
  • Serve as the point of contact to the USOC Sport Performance Division.

  • Assume a strong leadership and communication role with the USAV and USOC Athletes’ Advisory Committee. Ensure that athlete concerns and opportunities are recognized and advocate for those concerns, as appropriate.
  • Assume a strong and vocal leadership role in support of USAV’s anti-doping, SafeSport and education programs
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Foundation and Communication Departments to develop individual team marketing/PR plans and promote specific events through all available avenues.
  • Perform duties, serve on task groups and take on special assignments as requested by the Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications
