2018 Wilbur H. Peck Referee Emeritus Award

Doug Wilson has refereed over 300 international indoor and beach volleyball matches, highlighted by the 2000 Olympic Games. He refereed on the beach for six years and served as beach referee manager at the 1996 Olympic Games. Wilson officiated at the 1997 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships and has whistled at most every FIVB major event including World Cup, World League and World Grand Champions Cup, as well as at two Pan American Games. He was a member of the FIVB Referee Commission from 2013 to 2016. Since 2002, Wilson has served on the NORCECA Referee Commission and he has been the referee delegate at 19 NORCECA and Pan American events. He served as USAV referee coordinator for NORCECA Beach Competitions from 2007 to 2011.

Domestically, Wilson has been a collegiate referee for 20 years at all three NCAA divisions. Doug was honored with the Glen G. Davies Referee Service Award in 2002 after earning the USAV’s Gold Whistle as best referee at the 1997 USAV Open National Championships. He picked up the USAV Silver Whistle for best rookie referee at the 1981 USA Open National Championships in Arlington.
