2023 Team USA Competition Kit Update

Zoot has expanded their partnership with USA Triathlon effective January 1, 2023 to include triathlon racing and parade kit apparel for Age-Group Team USA athletes in addition to continuing as the official USA Triathlon/Team USA cycling apparel partner. We are excited to introduce them as an additional option for Team USA athletes this year!

Ordering Information

Ordering will take place throughout the year, and pre-sales start in early January 2023. After ordering, Team USA athletes can expect delivery of their uniform in approximately 10 weeks. Team USA athletes wishing to purchase a Zoot uniform will need to do so during these pre-ordering windows. Orders need to be placed by the designated “final call” ordering window to ensure your uniform arrives on time.

2023 Competition Kit FAQ

Team USA athletes in 2023 can wear either their previous 2022 or the new 2023 design during the 2023 season.
Team USA athletes cannot wear a uniform that is not approved by World Triathlon and USA Triathlon. In 2023, USA Triathlon will only approve suits from Zoot or Zone3. Athletes who violate this policy will not be able to compete at World Championships and may face a one-year suspension from Team USA.
2023 Team USA athletes who have purchased both a Zone3 and Zoot uniform can wear either uniform during 2023 Worlds competitions if they choose.

A front zipper is allowed for all age-group athletes regardless of event. Previous communication regarding front zipped kits as only being allowed for Middle Distance or Long-Distance Events is no longer applicable.

The 2023 World Triathlon Competition Rules have changed the rule about front-zipped uniforms:
Rule 2.8 c.(iii): Age-Group athletes and para triathletes may wear uniforms with sleeves that extend to above the elbow and not covering the elbow in any distance competition. Youth, Junior, U23 and Elite athletes may wear uniforms with sleeves that extend to above the elbow and not covering the elbow in all multisport and distances except standard and shorter distances triathlon.

Age-Group athletes are allowed to wear uniforms with sleeves in all multisport events.

The new rule around zippers is:
Rule 2.8 c. (viii): If the suit has a zipper, it must be located at the back and will not be longer than 40 cm. This rule does not apply for events in which short sleeves are allowed as per (iii) above. middle- and long-distance events and PTWC athletes in all distances;

There is no longer a regarding zippers for Age-Group athletes. Zippers may be on the front or the back.

For Middle- and Long-distance events the rules are in section 15:
15.7 Uniform:
a.) Front zipper is allowed.
b.) Zipper can be undone to the point of the end of the breastbone (sternum) during the competition

Additional Team USA items will be made available to purchase from Zoot during 2023. Further specifics will be provided in the near future.
Team USA Athletes are welcome to purchase as many styles of uniforms they feel suits their personal needs.

Having your name on the uniform is optional. Be aware that once the name is sublimated onto the suit, it cannot be removed. Due to design restrictions, names will only be able to be placed on the front of the suit.

There is no extra turn time for this customization as the suits are sublimated with your name in the production process and are not added by screen-print or heat transfer after production.

Please note that all sales are final and exchanges will not be permitted on suits with names as they are custom made for you.

All our triathlon products are made from only the best premium Italian fabrics. Zoot’s triathlon race suits all use sublimated Italian Shield fabric, which ensures the very best in moisture management, comfort, and durability. In the team store, each product will show the exact fabric content.

All of Zoot's suits fit the same regardless of the type of suit, but if you are between sizes, it is recommended that you size up.

If you did not customize the suit with your name, you can exchange a purchased suit for one in a different size, but not a different style. Note that not all items and sizes are kept in stock, so you may have to wait 8-10 weeks from the next store opening to receive your exchange. 

If you did customize the suit with your name, all sales are final and it cannot be exchanged.

All sales for Zoot competition suits are final, although exchanges may be permitted for a different size of the same suit style. Suits customized with an athlete's name may not be exchanged.

If you wish to exchange your suit, please email customerservice@zootsports.com with subject line: USAT EXCHANGE and request authorization to return. Please include information of gender, style, and size of the suit you are returning and what size you are requesting. With this information we can tell you if we have your requested size in stock or if we will need to order it.

If you are able to exchange your suit, you will pay shipping costs to send your current suit back to Zoot, but Zoot will ship your new size back to you for free.
