The 2020 Olympic-Distance State championships prior to August 1, 2020 will qualify the top 25% of finishers in an age group for the 2020 Olympic-Distance Age Group Nationals. No other distance or discipline at State Championships will allow for Olympic-distance qualification. Any State Championship occurring after August 1, 2020 will qualify the top 25% competitors per their respective age groups for the 2021 Olympic-Distance Age Group National Championships. All athletes must be at least 17 years old by Dec. 31, 2020, to qualify for Olympic Distance National Championships.
The 2020 Sprint State championships prior to August 1, 2020 will qualify the top 35% or top 3 finishers in an age group (whichever is greater) for the 2020 Sprint Age Group Nationals. No other distance or discipline at State Championships will allow for Sprint qualification.
High School State Championships Exemption: All finishers of High School State Championships will automatically qualify for Sprint Age Group Nationals (pending they are at least age 15 as of December 31, 2020.)
Awards
New for the year, participants in both series will receive awards. Awards include:
- 1 race completed: 1 entry in the end of season raffle (prizes TBD)
- 2 races completed: 3 entries in the raffle, USAT stickers, USAT File Folder
- *can include participation in 1 Splash and Dash event
- 3 races completed: 5 entries in the raffle, 2020 Youth Digital Membership
- *can include participation in 1 Splash and Dash event
- 4 races completed: 10 entries in the raffle, USAT Notebook
- *can include participation in 2 Splash and Dash events
- 5 races completed: 12 entries in the raffle, Rudy Project Youth Bike Helmet
- *can include participation in 3 Splash and Dash event
