USA Triathlon Coach Mentorship Programs

USA Triathlon Coaching Education is supporting four new Coach Mentorship Programs starting this year designed to drive all levels of triathlon coach development.

Thee three programs, including Coach to Coach Mentorship, Elite Coach Mentorship and Collegiate Club Mentorship, encourage coaches to build relationships throughout the industry and learn and grow by interacting with one another, as well as provide timely and relevant education and knowledge. 

USA Triathlon is committed to providing its certified coaches unparalleled resources to ensure they are qualified, confident and successful throughout their coaching career, and these programs will provide the following benefits: 

  • Veteran coaches are afforded the opportunity to pass along knowledge and expertise to the next generation of multisport coaches
  • Less-experienced coaches are given the forum to learn from some of the best and longest-tenured coaches in the country
  • Coaches throughout the multisport community are able to grow the sport by enhancing their knowledge base across different programs and disciplines

Coach to Coach Mentorship Program

The Coach to Coach Mentorship Program facilitates a structured relationship between new USA Triathlon Certified Coaches and experienced Level II, Level II Endurance, Level III, and Paratriathlon coaches to help new coaches grow their knowledge, skill set, and career opportunities. Mentor coaches will have the autonomy to design and run their mentorship programs how they see fit, and USA Triathlon will provide resources and support, as well as USAT CEU credit.

How It Works

USA Triathlon reserves the right to approve or deny programs for any reason at any time. Providers are prohibited from promoting USAT CEU approval for their program until an approval letter from USA Triathlon has been received. 

Elite Coach Mentorship Program

The Elite Coach Mentorship Program serves as a connecting agent between USA Triathlon and promising, up-and-coming USA Triathlon Certified Coaches. This program will give qualified USA Triathlon Certified Coaches the opportunity to work with USA Triathlon High Performance staff, coaches and programs by shadowing in a raw high performance learning environment with elite level athletes. This program is designed to further develop the pool of talented and experienced coaches who will identify and develop future Olympic & Paralympic triathlon champions.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be a current USAT Level II, Level II Endurance, Level III or Paratriathlon Certified Coach
  • Ideal candidates are NCAA, Youth & Junior Elite, Draft-Legal, Olympic/Paralympic focused 

Collegiate Club Mentorship Program
