Ashley Forsyth

About Ashley: I started triathlon in 2010 as a charity athlete racing on behalf of the American Cancer Society's DetermiNation Program.  I was at the very bottom of my age group, but found something I really enjoyed!  Having played ice hockey for most of my life, triathlon was a new and fun challenge.  Embracing that challenge has helped me excel at the sport, but also given me confidence in other areas of life including pursuing and earning my doctorate.  I live in Philadelphia (but from Pittsburgh) with my amazingly supportive husband and two goofy cats.

Sport Discipline: Triathlon, Duathlon

Most memorable moment in your multisport career: Competing for Team USA in Fyn, Denmark this summer!  Racing in a foreign country, having people cheer for you in so many languages, seeing my family drinking a beer as I ran past them, and of course, being handed that American flag as I ran down the blue carpet was one of the best moments of my life!

Sport Career Highlights: *10:07 and Kona Qualifying at Ironman Maryland, 2018 *2nd Amateur American Woman at ITU Long-Course World Championship, 2018 *PR'ing the Boston Marathon in the rain, 2018 *Winning Ironman Maine 70.3, 2017 *2nd Overall and KQ at Ironman Maryland, 2016 *Earning my Pro Card in duathlon, 2016 *Finishing my first Iron-distance race, Ironman Mont Tremblant, 2013
