Military Grant Programming

In 2018 USA Paratriathlon has been awarded a $44,000 grant through the Department of Veterans Affairs' Adaptive Sports Programs for Disabled Veterans and Disabled Members of the Armed Forces to help fuel paratriathlon growth among U.S. veterans for the triathlon season.

Event Travel Assistance

USA Triathlon has received a fantastic grant from the Given Limb Foundation to help offset some travel expenses to three key domestic competitions in 2018. Athletes need to be military veterans with limb loss and show financial need in order to be eligible. These events include:

  • CAMTRI Paratriathlon Championships in Sarasota, FL on March 10
  • USA Paratriathlon National Championships in Pleasant Prairie, WI on June 24
  • ITU Sarasota Paratriathlon World Cup in Sarasota, FL on October 13

Please fill out this Financial Travel Form and email it to us and we will get back to you with the amount we are able to provide. The maximum award per athlete per event is $1,000. No travel reimbursement is guaranteed. Receipts showing the travel expenses will be required.

2018 Camps & Clinics

2018 Paralyzed Veterans of America Triathlon Camp

What: USA Triathlon and the Paralyzed Veterans of America will be hosting a Paratriathlon camp for all skill levels that wish to apply.  This camp will focus on the para-specific dynamics of swimming, biking, and running, as well as other aspects of triathlon (basic nutrition, transition area, etc.).  You DO NOT need to be a military veteran to apply and participate, so please share this information with whomever you think will be interested.

When: May 16-20, 2018

Where: United States Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs, Colorado

More Info: All travel and accommodation costs (including on campus meals) will be covered.  Participants will stay at the Colorado Springs OTC, where Olympic hopefuls live and train.  If you are accepted, there will be a small (no more than $100) non-refundable fee that is required, to limit the number of cancellations.  This fee will be put towards each individuals’ travel/accommodation.

2018 United States Association of Blind Athletes Triathlon Camp

 

What: USA Triathlon and USABA will be hosting a Paratriathlon camp for all skill levels that wish to apply.  This camp will focus on the para-specific dynamics of visually impaired swimming, biking, and running, as well as other aspects of triathlon (basic nutrition, transition area, etc.).  

When: August 22-26, 2018

Where: United States Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs, Colorado

What: USA Triathlon and the Amputee Coalition of America will be hosting a Paratriathlon camp for all skill levels that wish to apply.  This camp will focus on the para-specific dynamics of swimming, biking, and running, as well as other aspects of triathlon (basic nutrition, transition area, etc.).  

When: August 30 - September 3, 2018

Where: United States Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs, Colorado
