The Spirit of Judy Flannery Award will be presented at a special reception hosted by the Women’s Committee before the Athlete of the Year Dinner on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the USA Triathlon National Age Group Championships held in Milwaukee, Wis.
Nominees should best represent those special qualities of Judy Flannery. Among those include: 1) excellence in multi-sport; 2) high moral character; 3) demonstration of "giving back" to the sport; 4) current female member in good standing of USA Triathlon, a preference will be noted for nominees in the Masters or Grand Masters division. Past award winners are not eligible.
To nominate a deserving female triathlete, submit a letter of recommendation that addresses each of the criteria listed above to Tara Comer, USAT Women's Committee Chair at tscomer@gmail.com. Deadline for nominations is Monday, July 7, 2014 and the winner will be notified by July 10, 2014.

About the USA Triathlon Women’s Committee
The USA Triathlon Women’s Committee is focused on creating a resource for female athletes of all levels and socioeconomic backgrounds by mentoring professional growth for women in the sport of triathlon. The Women’s Committee is concentrating on the quality of training as well as opportunities available for women in positions of authority and decision-making within associations that govern the sport. The WC is a national committee of women from all over the U.S. with a variety of professions and diverse levels of participation in triathlon.
