USA Triathlon Southwest Region Announces New Council Members, Administrator

Oceanside, CA - Kevin Trock, Chair of the Southwest Region of USA Triathlon, announced the appointment of three new members to the Southwest Regional Council and the hire of a new Regional Administrator.

USAT Southwest Regional Council members approved the appointment of triathletes Kenneth Lewis, David Benjes and Lorie Tucker to the Region's ten member council. 

Kenneth Lewis is a veteran triathlete living in Scottsdale, Arizona. A competitive age grouper with over 27 years of racing experience, Lewis enjoys sharing his accumulated knowledge of the sport with fellow multisport friends.  His goals include the establishment of mentoring programs in local triathlon clubs.

David Benjes resides in Arizona and is owner of DCB Extreme Adventures Inc. An event management professional, Benjes will work with USAT to develop regional event calendars promoting races that are competitive and provide value and quality for participants.
Lorie Tucker of Mesa, Arizona is a seasoned triathlete and coach with Gorilla Multisport. Tucker, a mother of four, brings her passion for family and triathlon to the council. She aims to spread the spirit of triathlon engaging our youth and their families to participate in multisport events for health and fitness

The trio joins Council members Kevin Trock, Jocelyn Weingart, Penni Bengtson, DeeAnn Bonnell , Phil DiGirolamo, Frank Lowery and Sharon Osgood.

To facilitate and support the Southwest Region's on-going initiatives and activities, the Council also approved the hire of Rachel Sears Casanta as the new Regional Administrator.  Sears Casanta is a professional triathlete, high school track and XC coach, Masters candidate at the University of San Francisco and co-owner of Hypercat Racing. Casanta is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Southwest Region of USA Triathlon is dedicated to serving triathletes and duathletes in Arizona, California and Nevada by creating opportunities and resources for multisport athletes, supporting the USAT Southwest Regional Athlete Development Program, the Southwest Regional Officials Program and facilitating multisport events by connecting race directors, sponsors, athletes, coaches and clubs.
