I Am A Triathlete: My Journey to the Start Line

By Sandra Hill | Sept. 05, 2017, 4:33 p.m. (ET)

My triathlon journey began years ago. I've always wanted to be like those guys I saw competing in the Olympics or running a marathon. So, in January 2017 at the age of 37 I decided to go after what I wanted. I joined the DFW TriClub and things soared from there. It has been a long journey with many moments where I thought, I'm not cut out for this life. But I chose not to listen to those negative thoughts that came up and still come up to this day. I'm striving to get better and prepare for the half IRONMAN in 2018.
