COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The USA Triathlon Pikes Peak Swim Run Series Presented by Select Physical Therapy will take place this April through September and include a series of youth Splash & Dash races in Colorado Springs and an adult aquathlon (swim-run) race June 25 at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs.

The six-event Pikes Peak Swim Run Series presented by Select Physical Therapy includes five Youth Splash & Dash races held at Pikes Peak Athletics and the USA Triathlon Pikes Peak Swim Run presented by Select Physical Therapy on June 25 at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs. Each event is a part of the Rocky Mountain State Games, hosted by the Colorado Springs Sports Corp.

“This series is a celebration of the Colorado multisport community and a fun opportunity to introduce youth to the multisport lifestyle. We are excited to spotlight our sport with the Pikes Peak Swim Run Series and bring multisport events to Olympic City USA. I encourage the entire Olympic and Paralympic Movement community to get involved,” said Victoria Brumfield, USA Triathlon Chief of Staff and Chief Business Development Officer. “Thank you to Select Physical Therapy and Pikes Peak Athletics for being tremendous partners in hosting these fun, participation-based swim-run events.”

The USA Triathlon Pikes Peak Swim Run presented by Select Physical Therapy on June 25 includes an aquathlon (750m swim in Prospect Lake and a 5k run) and a Youth Splash & Dash (100m swim, 2k run). Participants can race the aquathlon as an individual or as part of a two-person relay.

The Colorado Springs and Colorado Front Range multisport community is encouraged to come race, cheer and support the multisport community. Set at picturesque Memorial Park with a backdrop of Pikes Peak, the race will take place in the calm water of Prospect Lake and the flat, fast trails that surround the lake.

SUPCOS will provide swim support swim on race day. In addition to offering stand-up paddleboard rentals, SUPCOS also hosts weekly open water swimming opportunities at Prospect Lake for local groups and training athletes.

Cost for the aquathlon race is $35 and cost for the youth Splash & Dash is $15. To register, click here

The rest of the Pikes Peak Swim Run Series includes five Youth Splash & Dash races held at Pikes Peak Athletics. The series of Splash & Dash events is a part of USA Triathlon’s goal to increase opportunities and access to multisport events for current and prospective youth multisport athletes. The first Youth Splash & Dash of the series is April 24, as part of an open house weekend at Pikes Peak Athletics, featuring food trucks, kids activities, program demonstrations and more. To register for the April 24 Youth Splash & Dash, visit the event’s website here. Cost is $30; Pikes Peak Athletics will cover the $10 cost for a USA Triathlon Youth Annual Membership if the participant isn’t an annual member.

With a focus on participation and fun, rather than competition, Youth Splash & Dash events are designed to introduce youth athletes between the ages of 7 and 15 to the multisport lifestyle through the unique discipline of aquathlon (swim-run).

At all Splash & Dash events, participants ages 7-10 will complete a 100-meter pool swim and an approximate 1-kilometer run, while athletes ages 11-15 will complete a 200m pool swim and an approximate 2k run.
