Membership Hub FAQs

By USA Triathlon | May 10, 2021, 12:12 p.m. (ET)

USA Triathlon’s new Membership Hub goes live June 2! We’re excited for all members to see and experience the slick new online Membership Hub, which will provide constituents a new way to engage with the sport and USA Triathlon.

Please reference these frequently asked questions to help prepare for the launch to the new Membership Hub.

Race Director FAQs

When is the new system launching?
June 2

What features are beneficial for race directors?
Reliability in the system, a more user-friendly experience for members and increased promotion of local races through a variety of avenues. Additional features and benefits will be rolled out over the coming weeks and months.

How long will the system be down?
It is our utmost intent for the system to be down for as minimal as possible on June 2. We have created a relay between our current membership system and our new membership hub that will allow for athletes to continue to register for events during the changeover. However, the downtime during the changeover may cause athletes to not be able to register for races for a short period.

Why do I have to go through this process to activate my account?

Your user information is encrypted for security purposes in both our old and new systems. As we switch to the new Membership Hub your old username and password will no longer work. Please note the new Membership Hub does not limit you to using your member number to log in to give you additional flexibility. Activating your account is a one-time process and you will not have to go through it again once you have initially signed into the new Membership Hub.

When will the revamped Race Calendar go live?
The cleaner and more user-friendly Race Calendar will be available this summer and will include added features and details about your race, and offer improved search functionality.

What else is coming this summer?

USA Triathlon will be rolling out additional membership types to provide athletes, race directors, coaches and clubs more flexibility in how they engage with the sport and USA Triathlon, and to encourage new athletes to participate and compete in multisport.

REGISTRATION/RTAV IMPACT

Will athletes be able to register during the changeover?
We have created a relay between our current membership system and our new membership hub that will allow for athletes to continue to register for events during the changeover. However, athletes may not be able to register for races for a short period during the June 2 downtime. We are focused on minimizing the system’s downtime on June 2 and getting it back up and running as soon as we can.

Will I have any reporting challenges with the new system/changeover?
No, you should not unless your event is not set up properly with a registration company who uses USA Triathlon’s Real-Time Account Validation (RTAV) and tied to the correct Event ID. If you are not currently using a registration company that uses RTAV, USA Triathlon can provide a complete list of all RTAV companies.

Will current members need to do anything?
Current members will have to activate their account in the new system through an email activation but will not need to do anything with their membership as that information will be transferred into the new system. This is for both one-day and annual members. USA Triathlon will send an activation email to all current annual members to access their account. The email activation will instruct that member on what to do to ensure their account and email address are correct and to gain access to the new system. After the membership hub launches on June 2 USA Triathlon will begin sending one-day license holders activation emails.

What will change for my athletes when they go to register?
The basic functionality will remain the same but the user interface will have an enhanced look and feel designed to streamline the registration process.

Will there be any changes to RTAV?
Yes! We have been working with the registration companies (previously using the API) to adjust their connection to our new system. The new endpoints are built on a newer technology which has added stability and efficiency for the registration as well as those using them to purchase a membership from USA Triathlon.

SANCTIONING/POST-RACE IMPACT

Has my sanctioning system login changed?
Yes, you will now use the same login credentials for both the new Membership Hub and the sanctioning system. After activating your account, you will be prompted to create a new username and password, which will serve as your login information for both the new Membership Hub and the sanctioning system. When creating your username and password, you are welcome to use the same log-in credentials you are using in the current system as long as your password is at least six characters.

Do I need to edit my existing event in the sanctioning system?
No, you do not need to edit or update your existing event in the sanctioning system.

Will the post-race requirements change?
No, the post-race requirements have not changed.

Will I still use the same location to share my results?
For now, you will use the same method as you have in the past.
