COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Triathlon today announced the start of the fourth annual National Triathlon Week, an initiative to celebrate multisport and all its constituency groups. For the first time, National Triathlon Week includes a #TriWeek Virtual Challenge presented by TOWER 26, featuring more than $23,000 in prize giveaways, as well as a #TriWeek Triathlon Tournament to determine the best all-time moment in U.S. triathlon history. National Triathlon Week will take place from today through Sunday, June 28, both on social media and in communities across the country.

Throughout the week, athletes are encouraged to get involved and celebrate the sport by posting on social media with the hashtag #TriWeek.
The emphasis of the week is on celebration, education and participation in the multisport lifestyle. Each day is centered around a different theme:
Monday, June 22: Time to Tri Day
Tuesday, June 23: Olympic and Paralympic Day
Wednesday, June 24: Swim Day
Thursday, June 25: Bike Day
Friday, June 26: Run Day
Saturday, June 27: Race Day
Sunday, June 28: Community Appreciation Day
Video and editorial content will be shared on USA Triathlon’s website and social channels to coincide with each themed day. On Bike Day, Olympic and Paralympics fans can look forward to a video feature on the Toyota U.S. Paratriathlon Resident Team’s recent “Operation CO>COVID” Ride Across Colorado, a 24-hour cycling relay across the state that nine athletes completed on June 19-20 to raise funds for COVID-19 relief.
The week’s activities promote sharing of stories and training tips by current triathletes — making it an ideal opportunity for prospective triathletes to learn more about the multisport lifestyle. USA Triathlon’s certified clubs, coaches and race directors, corporate partners, elite athletes, the USA Triathlon Foundation, and volunteer leadership structure (e.g., committees and councils), as well as industry partners, will all play an active role in celebrating and promoting National Triathlon Week.
National Triathlon Week is a celebration of triathletes and paratriathletes of all ages, genders, races and ethnicities. During National Triathlon Week, USA Triathlon will foster conversations in the multisport community about racism in sport, as well as the steps that the organization and the industry at large can take to improve diversity, equity and inclusion in triathlon. #TriWeek Virtual Challenge Presented by TOWER 26, Including $23K in Prize Giveaways
The #TriWeek Virtual Challenge presented by TOWER 26 is a digital run-bike event with competitive and non-competitive divisions, taking place today, June 22, through Sunday, July 5. The event is supported by TrueForm and housed on the FitRankings platform. Participants are challenged to reach cumulative totals in the bike and run, with the competitive division earning recognition for completing various distances as they go and the non-competitive division working toward a 40-kilometer bike and 10-kilometer run. USA Triathlon partners are offering an unprecedented $23,107 worth of prize giveaways for challenge participants.
Registration is now open. Complete event details and registration information are available for the competitive division at usatriathlon.org, and for the non-competitive division at mytimetotri.com. Athletes may join at any point before the end of the challenge on July 5.
All proceeds from the virtual event will be invested back into the multisport community to help athletes of all skill levels develop to their full potential, grow the sport through grassroots efforts, and provide tools and resources for coaches, race directors and clubs.
The non-competitive division is free to join with the option to purchase a $50 #TriWeek Package, which is required for the competitive division. The #TriWeek Package includes a USA Triathlon annual membership, finisher’s medal and the opportunity to win over $20,000 worth of prizes from USA Triathlon’s corporate partners. TOWER 26 is offering a prize giveaway for one participant to receive a year’s worth of personalized one-on-one triathlon coaching with USA Triathlon-certified head coach and professional triathlete Jim Lubinski, along with one year of swim-specific training designed by TOWER 26 Founder and world’s leading open water swimming coach, Gerry Rodrigues, and a signed copy of “Triathlon Swimming: Master Open-Water Swimming with the TOWER 26 Method,” all worth $5,500. TrueForm, an Official Supporting Partner, will give away one USA Triathlon-branded TrueForm Runner Trainer treadmill valued at $4,795.
An additional $2,897 in prizes is available to all #TriWeek Virtual Challenge participants who also respond to specific prize giveaway callouts on the @usatriathlon social media channels and use the hashtag #TriWeek, regardless of whether or not they purchase the #TriWeek Package.

Lifetime Membership Contest
Multisport athletes can enter to win a USA Triathlon Lifetime Membership by sharing how the sport has helped them overcome a personal challenge and access their power within. #TriWeek Triathlon Tournament: Top All-Time U.S. Moments
Throughout the week, the multisport community has the opportunity to vote on the top all-time moments in U.S. triathlon history in an online tournament challenge. A March Madness-style bracket will feature 40 iconic moments spanning the sport’s 46-year history, from the first-ever triathlon at San Diego’s Mission Bay in 1974 to Katie Zaferes’ 2019 ITU World Triathlon Series title. Voting will take place round-by-round and matchup-by-matchup on social media throughout the week, with the winning moment unveiled on #TriWeek’s Community Appreciation Day.
