USA Triathlon Race Directors Realizing Increased Efficiencies with New Sanctioning System

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Triathlon has unrolled a new-and-improved sanctioning system for race directors, which features greatly improved processing speed, enhanced user experience and the elimination of duplicate work. Race directors from across the country, who have been able to use the new system since June to sanction their upcoming events, have reported increased efficiencies on the significantly streamlined platform.

The new system was launched with significant input from the race director community — including focus groups at the USA Triathlon Race Director Summit, informal feedback from event directors across the country and user experience testing by the USA Triathlon Race Director Committee.

“After taking the time to make thoughtful improvements to the race director sanctioning system, we now have something we can be proud of,” said Rocky Harris, USA Triathlon CEO. “This new interface has been created with race directors’ best interests in mind, so they can get back to doing what they do best — creating dynamic races that serve our athletes. If we remove roadblocks from race directors and do everything we can to support them, we know that the entire multisport community will thrive as a result.”

The modern interface features faster page loads and increased efficiencies throughout the sanctioning process. A key improvement is the streamlining of data entry, which saves race directors’ time by eliminating the need to enter the same piece of information into the system multiple times.

“The race director community has patiently been waiting for the sanctioning system to be enhanced, so thank you to USA Triathlon for listening to our feedback,” said Eric Opdyke, Chair of the USA Triathlon Race Director Committee and President of REV3 Triathlon. “I just put in 11 events in the sanctioning system in under an hour. Not only is it much faster, but the new feature set is a great improvement.”
