What's Your #AccidentalWorkout?

Transition Four and USA Triathlon are teaming up to bring the concept of #AccidentalWorkouts to life.

Eric Lagerstrom — professional triathlete, videographer and the creative mind behind Transition Four — says it best: "An accidental workout is a session or activity — swim, bike or run — that you enjoy enough that you kind of get lost in it, and at the end of it you realize you actually had a pretty good workout.”

Don’t get us wrong; triathletes train hard. But the sport should be about joy, not suffering. Triathlon shouldn’t be a box to check. It should be a part of our lifestyle — the daily experience of getting to explore our world by land and by sea, on foot and on two wheels.

Starting today, USA Triathlon will release a new video each week, produced by Transition Four. The videos feature age-group and elite triathletes who inspire a healthy and lifelong joy for the sport of triathlon (while giving you a few ideas for your next swim, bike or run!)

We want you to share your #AccidentalWorkout, too. Send us your own video, or tell us about the last time you made your workout into an unexpected adventure. Share with us by posting in the comments (using the hashtag #AccidentalWorkout) when we release our videos each week on the @usatriathlon Facebook, Instagram and Twitter channels.

Eric kicks us off with video #1 — an epic bike ride/photo shoot in Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge. We hope you enjoy!
