USA Triathlon Club National Champions Crowned at New Jersey State Tri

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. — Multisport clubs from across the country won national titles in sprint- and Olympic-distances Saturday and Sunday at the USA Triathlon Club National Championships, which returned to USA Triathlon’s National Championship calendar for the first time since 2016. The races were held as part of the New Jersey State Triathlon at Mercer County Park.

The course for both distances was shortened to provide athletes with a safe race experience in unusually hot conditions. Sprint-distance competitors covered a 500-yard swim, 11.5-mile bike and 2-mile run, while Olympic-distance athletes raced a 750-meter swim, 13.5-mile bike and 3.1-mile run.

Clubs were divided into three divisions for each distance based on total club size. Division I was comprised of the largest 33 percent of clubs in the race (based on number of athletes registered), division II the middle 33 percent, and division III the smallest 33 percent. Men and women were scored separately.

The three highest-placing athletes in each club, based on age-group finish, scored for their club using cross-country-style scoring (1 point for first place, 2 for second place, etc.), with the lowest combined score winning the title.

Cadence Racing PHL earned the women’s Division I sprint-distance club title, and Tri for Kopila earned Division II honors. There were no women’s clubs in the running for the sprint-distance Division III title. The men’s sprint-distance Division I title went to Full Throttle Endurance, while #CarpeDiem took the Division II victory and Tri-Donuts came out on top for Division III.

In the Olympic-distance race, Paramount Multisport claimed the women’s Division I win, and ProSwim Fitness took the Division II crown. There were no women’s clubs in the running for the Olympic-distance Division III title. Paramount Multisport also earned top honors for Division I men in the Olympic-distance, while Team J&J earned the men's Division II title and JPNJ won the men's Division III category.
