Join USA Triathlon during National Triathlon Week, as we celebrate the sport of triathlon and all of its constituency groups. The week is taking place from July 16-22, 2018, and is geared toward the education, celebration and participation in the multisport lifestyle. As part of the festivities, USA Triathlon will share a video each day that ties in to that day’s particular theme and the overall wider mission of Tri Week.

On Run Day, USA Triathlon is sharing the story of Elite U.S. Paratriathlete Allysa Seely. Allysa had just started triathlon when she received the news that no athlete ever wants to hear. She was diagnosed with a rare neurological condition that eventually led to the amputation of her left leg below the knee. Despite the life-changing event, Allysa didn’t let a loss of limb define her. Instead, she continued pursuing her athletic dream and went on to become a two-time Paratriathlon World Champion and Paralympic Gold Medalist. Watch Allysa’s inspiring story in the video below.
