USA Triathlon Magazine Seeks Kid Reporters

By USA Triathlon | Oct. 11, 2017, 3:44 p.m. (ET)

Do you love sports and dream of being a reporter or writer? If so, you may have what it takes to be a junior reporter for USA Triathlon Kids magazine!

We’re looking for youth and junior athletes to interview elite triathletes about what the sport was like back in the day — how triathlon has evolved, memories from their early days in the sport and more.

  • USA Triathlon Kids’ editor will provide tips on how to prepare for and conduct an interview.
  • USA Triathlon will connect the junior reporter with the elite athlete.
  • Interviews will be conducted through a video call, like Skype or Google Hangouts, or in person (if the athlete is local).
  • Interviews will appear in the winter 2017-18 issue of USA Triathlon Kids magazine and/or on usatriathlon.org.

If you’re interested in being a junior reporter, email communications@usatriathlon.org with “Kid Reporter” in the subject line by Oct. 26. In the body of the email, include your first and last name, age, hometown, a brief description of why you want to be a junior reporter and what you like best about the sport of triathlon. Junior reporters will be selected by Nov. 1 and interviews will occur during the following week.

Watch past interviews of junior reporters interviewing members of the 2016 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Games team.
