Race directors from across the country gathered in Colorado Springs for the 2019 USA Triathlon Race Director Summit presented by ACTIVE Network, held at the scenic Cheyenne Mountain Resort from Feb. 1-3. The annual event is an opportunity for multisport race directors from across the country to collaborate with industry colleagues and share best practices while gaining continuing education units (CEUs) to advance their professional development.

The Summit was planned and executed by the volunteer-run USA Triathlon Race Director Committee. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in small-group discussions led and facilitated by the race directors themselves, as well as attend presentations by industry experts on topics including social media, event marketing, cost management and more.

The weekend also included the Groundhog Day Race Directors' 5K, held on the grounds of the Cheyenne Mountain Resort golf course. Attendees had the chance to meet and run with IRONMAN legend and ITU world champion Timothy O'Donnell, who led Saturday's 5K and participated in a meet-and-greet on Friday evening.
