The 2017 USA Triathlon High School National Championships will be hosted in conjunction with the USA Triathlon Collegiate Club National Championships on April 21, 2017 at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Distance: Non-draft Sprint Triathlon: 750m swim, 20k bike, 5k run
Racing Age: Age as of 12/31/2017
Registration Fee: $50
Capacity: Registration will be capped at 300 athletes.

Qualification
- USA Triathlon Annual Membership
- Proof of High School program enrollment
- Options for Proof of Attendance (choose one):
- School ID, report card, other form of identification verified by high school.
- Eligibility Form
- Options for Proof of Attendance (choose one):
- Encouraged, but not required: Results of at least one USA Triathlon Sanctioned race of sprint distance or longer within the past 12 months from the date of the USA Triathlon High School National Championships. Please submit these race results to highschool@usatriathlon.org one week prior to the High School National Championships.
Important Registration Information
- There is no transfer or deferment of entries from one year to the next
- There are no refunds
- Athletes MUST be annual USA Triathlon members to race
To be eligible for awards you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be a U.S. national - someone who has resided in the U.S. for three years.
Event Cancellation and Modification Policy
In the event of extreme weather, natural disaster, community disaster or other unforeseen emergencies, our action steps will be as follows:- USA Triathlon, in concert with local officials, will make the final decision based on safety of the athletes, spectators, vendors, volunteers and others affiliated with the event.
- USA Triathlon may, based on the conditions of the course, shorten the distances or cancel the event altogether.
- Because costs of the event have already been paid out to cover various levels of production expenses, there will be NO REFUNDS, transferred entry fees or future complimentary entry fees.

Scoring
- Combined Overall Club
- The 2017 USA Triathlon High School National Championships will be scored according to the weighted point values in the chart below. The top four (4) female and top four (4) male finishers from each club will earn their club points depending on their official place in the race.
- Male & Female Club
- Region Based Clubs and Independent High School Clubs will also score their male athletes and female athletes separately for a Female Club score and a Male Club score. See the “Awards” section below for further detail.
- Individual
- The 2017 USA Triathlon High School National Championships will be scored as follows for each gender:
- Finishers at the High School National Championship will earn points based on the weighted point system above. Finishers at the 41st place and below receive 1 point. Racers who do not finish will not earn points.

Awards Ceremony
The High School National Championships awards ceremony will occur at the finish line inside of the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater on Friday, April 21 at 3:15 p.m.
