Feb. 28, 2015 12 a.m. (ET)

The 2015 USA Triathlon Winter Triathlon National Championships will take place February 28 as part of the Winter Challenge at Bogus Basin in Boise, Idaho.

The Winter Challenge was Idaho's first winter triathlon, held at Boise's local ski resort, Bogus Basin. Bogus Basin has one of the country's largest and most developed nordic centers, with over 40k of skiable nordic terrain.  Racers will compete on a rolling course with a variety of short, punchy hills. Overall the course is not technical and is both racer and spectator friendly, utilizing multiple loops around the nordic center, where hundreds of spectators can hang out near the comfort of the nordic lodge as participants race by on a 1 loop run course, 3 loop bike course, and 2 loop ski course. The nordic lodge itself is the location for post-race food, drinks, and awards.

As the host city for the Winter Tri National Championships, Boise has a well developed airport located less than 10min from Downtown. Bogus Basin Ski Resort is another 40min drive from Downtown Boise, making the race logistically simple to get to and compete in.

Distance: 4k snow run; 12k snow bike; 8k skate/freestyle cross country ski
