Fort Worth, Texas

May 23, 2021 7 a.m. (ET)

USA Triathlon is pleased to announce we are offering two 2021 Olympic-Distance World Championship Qualifiers: Saturday, May 1 in Sebring, Florida, as part of the Sebring Multisport Festival produced by Integrity Multisport, and Sunday, May 23 in Fort Worth, Texas, as part of the Playtri Fort Worth Triathlon

These events are an additional opportunity for athletes to qualify for the 2021 Age Group Standard (Olympic-Distance) World Triathlon Championships in Edmonton, Canada, Aug. 17-22.

Distances for both the Olympic-Distance World Qualifiers and the Standard World Championships are: 1,500-meter swim, 40-kilometer bike, 10-kilometer run.

Registration is open now for both World Qualifier events. Click here to register for the Sebring Multisport Festival, and here to register for the Playtri Fort Worth Triathlon.

The World Qualifiers serve as another option for age-group athletes who had hoped to punch their tickets to Worlds at the 2020 Toyota USA Triathlon Age Group Olympic-Distance National Championships in Milwaukee, which were canceled due to COVID-19. In addition, athletes who had previously qualified for the canceled 2020 Age Group Standard World Triathlon Championships in Edmonton have been given the option to roll their qualification over to 2021. More details about the qualification process can be found at usatriathlon.org/teamusa, or by emailing teamusa@usatriathlon.org.

Note: The Sebring Multisport Festival is also hosting 2021 World Championship Qualifiers for a variety of other multisport disciplines, including Olympic-Distance Aquabike, Long Course Aquabike, Long Course Aquathlon, Long Course Triathlon and Long Course Duathlon. Click here for more information on these qualifiers or visit sebringmultisportfestival.com for a detailed daily schedule. Integrity Multisport is offering a “Race or Refund Guarantee” for all of its events in 2021.

Both the Sebring Multisport Festival and the Playtri Fort Worth Triathlon will be held with COVID-19 safety precautions in place, according to USA Triathlon’s Safe Return to Multisport guidelines as well as any restrictions set by local authorities.

We know the Team USA process is complicated for 2021, and we appreciate your patience as we work to communicate qualification and registration details as quickly and clearly as possible.

We will share additional information about 2021 and 2022 qualification in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to teamusa@usatriathlon.org with qualification questions; rob@integritymultisport.com with questions about the Sebring Multisport Festival; or Olga Cemore at playtrievents@gmail.com with questions about the Playtri Fort Worth Triathlon.
