Athletes may not register as both a Developmental and a Youth Age Group athlete (13-18). If an athlete registers as a Youth Age Group athlete (13-18) and later wishes to transfer to the Developmental division, USA Triathlon will transfer the registration upon the athlete’s request, provided spots remain available in the Developmental race. Junior Developmental athletes must be between the ages of 16-19.

A password is required to register for the Developmental (draft-legal) races. This will be provided to you via email after you qualify.

    Junior Developmental Programing Information

View the USA Triathlon's development program page for more information on junior elite programming.

    Rules

This event is draft-legal. Youth Developmental must be between the ages of 13-15. Junior Developmental must be between the ages of 16-19.

    Have Yours Plans Changed?

We understand that sometimes plans change or injuries occur that keep you from racing. Because of the limited number of spots available in the Developmental fields, when an athlete withdraws from the race, we do our best to fill the spot through Wild Card requests. The sooner you notify USAT of your intent to withdraw from the competition, the better chance another athlete will have of taking your place. If you are not planning to race in Milwaukee, please notify nationalevents@usatriathlon.org.

The race field will be limited to 60 teams (240 athletes)

    Race Distances:250-meter swim, 5-kilometer draft-legal bike and 1.2-kilometer run

    Registration

Elite teams will be invited via email.

    Rules

    • Athletes must wear a team uniform that fully covers their torso from race start to finish. Matching team uniforms are highly encouraged.
    • Wetsuits are not allowed if the water temperature is above 20°C (68°F).
    • Athletes must move forward after the start signal (no lateral or rearward movement along the start line).
    • All penalties will be assessed in the penalty box located on the run course and may be served by any team members currently on the field of play.
    • Blocking or interfering with the forward progress of another competitor is not allowed.
    • Aero helmets are not permitted. Helmet chin-strap must be buckled at all times while touching the bike.
    • All equipment must be placed in your individual transition bin after use (e.g. swim cap, goggles, helmet).

    Event Cancellation/Modification Policy

In the event of extreme weather, natural disaster, community disaster or other unforeseen emergencies, our action steps will be as follows:
    1. USA Triathlon, in concert with local officials, will make the final decision based on safety of the athletes, spectators, vendors, volunteers and others affiliated with the event.
    2. USAT may, based on the conditions of the course, shorten the distances or cancel the event altogether.
    3. Because costs of the event have already been paid out to cover various levels of production expenses, there will be NO REFUNDS, transferred entry fees or future complimentary entry fees.
