As competitive athletes and members of the triathlon community, you know there is no better feeling than succeeding in your endeavors in sport. As a competitor at USA Triathlon events, you have a responsibility to demonstrate the highest standards of sportsmanship per the USA Triathlon Rulebook (Article III, Sections 3.3 and 3.4, Line b.), and as such, should always show respect for the sport, your fellow athletes, race staff, officials, volunteers and spectators. Each individual athlete shares this responsibility, which includes refraining from the use of improper language and conduct detrimental to the community at large. This rule will be strictly enforced and disrespectful language or conduct will not be tolerated.

For more information on USA Triathlon rules and sportsmanship, please reference the USAT Competitive Rules.

Team Tent Regulations

In collaboration with the West Chester Police Department, MetroParks, Incident Management Team, and Butler County Visitors Bureau, the following procedures should be followed, similar to 2019. The following solutions to these prior safety concerns have not been taken lightly to ensure safety for all involved with the event. All entities appreciate your advance cooperation in adhering to the following:

  • Team tents may only be placed in the designated team area on the team tent map.
  • Setup Times:
    • Tuesday - Thursday: Cox Road Gate will be open for entry & departure. Liberty Way gate and Butler Warren gate will be closed. Trailers may be left in the team tent area but please ensure they are placed so space can be maximized by others. No vehicles shall be left if in team tent area.
    • Friday: Cox Road Gate will be closed all day. Butler-Warren Gate will be open all day. All traffic will enter and depart through the Butler-Warren Gate.
      • Drop Off Exception: The Liberty Way Gate will be opened from 6 a.m.-8 a.m. Friday for vehicles to enter only for the purpose of dropping off only. Once a vehicle has dropped off their equipment, they will proceed through the park to the Athletic Complex for parking. All traffic will exit through the Butler-Warren Gate. No traffic, vehicular, bicycle, or pedestrian will be allowed to exit through the Liberty Way gate.
    • Saturday-Sunday: Cox Road gate will be closed all day. Liberty Way gate will be closed all day for vehicular traffic.
  • Team tents need to be lowered on Friday and Saturday evenings
  • Absolutely no stopping, loading, or unloading will be permitted on Liberty Way (just north of the venue/lake). Anyone who stops or parks their vehicle on or alongside Liberty Way will receive a citation and their vehicle may be towed and impounded.
  • Those leaving trailers in the team tent area may not leave their vehicles there. Trailers may be hitched and removed upon the conclusion of the event – upon removal, there is no stopping, loading, or unloading along Liberty Way.
  • Teams tents must be set back at least five (5) feet from the edge of the course to allow enough space for athletes and staff to move freely.
  • All individuals and teams should remain clear of the boat ramp on the north side of the lake at all times so that marine rescue units can both operate safely and maintain their focus on athletes in the water.
  • Teams may not rope off team area in a way that prevents pedestrian passage to any part of the course, passageway, expo or recovery zone.
  • Teams may not alter the landscape or vegetation in any way.
  • Teams may not move any tables or toilets belonging to the park or the race organizers.
  • Teams must be considerate of the park and other teams when setting up their team areas to ensure space usage is not abused.

USA Triathlon reserves the right to relocate or remove tents from teams that do not abide by the above rules. Thank you for your cooperation.
